Sadly, summer is winding down. To be honest this one has not been that great for me. More one of responsibilty than fun! Usually I make a short film during the summer months or go on a kick ass trip. The closest I have come to a short film was 'Chupacabra' which was only a one day shoot. As for trips, I went to Vancouver for a weekend and made a road trip to Calgary, but when I compare it to last year everything pales in comparison. Last year I went to California with Gibran and made Doomed! I better pick up the pace!

Speaking of picking up the pace (not really) I am finally moving out of my parent's house and entering the real world. It would be a scary prospect if not for the fact that I am almost 40 years old (actually 27). It's my time, I know it. If I run for mayor of Regina and they interview me in my parent's basement it would just be sad. I feel it in my bone marrow.
In the first week of August I found an apartment. The weekend was pretty relaxing. Saturday I jus' vegged out and worked on my feature zombie script. Sunday was more filming of 'Shuya Show' (see pictures below). Emersen came along, then after that we went for supper with Jason Cullimore (musical composer on DOOMED amongst other things!)...

The last couple weeks of August were very busy and eventful. I was a director observer on Corner Gas, which was a pretty damn sweet gig. Basically I was paid to hang out on set and watch the behind the scenes making of the hit show. All seemed to run pretty smoothly, which gives me hope that one day I can have an equally successful project. With experience, I suppose! As my time on Corner Gas came to a close, I attended a Corner Gas charity benefit with my peeps. It was very busy on Scarth street that night, let me tell you! So busy that Mike and I ditched out after Geronimo to get some cheeeeeeeseburgers!

As August ended - sadly - Alison left us for Guelph. She will be there for the rest of the year getting her Masters (not of the Universe). We wish her luck (of course) and will miss her. Before she left, we were able to all spend time together as a family, along with extended family like the "Vancouver Deans" (our aunt, uncle and cousins from B.C.) and Leif's family.

And so ends August! I have now officially moved into my new apartment, too, so feel free to give me a ring and drop by? I am not having a housewarming party because ...it's an apartment (duh). But I can entertain a few people at a time, so come on down and bring some nachos!
Here comes the fall!
